Upholding Standards: CHAGEE’s July Food Safety and Product Quality Report
At CHAGEE, our unwavering dedication to excellence continues to shape our operational practices, from food safety and product quality to overall customer experience. As we step into July, we are proud to mark a significant milestone with the launch of our first official audit in Thailand—a key step in reinforcing our APAC-wide audit framework. This important initiative not only strengthens compliance and consistency across our expanding regional presence, but also sets a clear benchmark for operational excellence in new markets. Through regular audits, structured training, and meticulous attention to detail, we remain focused on delivering premium quality in every cup across all CHAGEE outlets in the APAC region.
This month’s report presents key developments and proactive measures undertaken to uphold our standards and exceed customer expectations.
- Food Safety & Product Quality Training
At CHAGEE, we recognise that food safety and product quality are upheld not only through robust systems and procedures, but also through consistent, well-delivered training. This commitment to continuous training not only strengthens internal operations, but also directly benefits our customers by ensuring every cup of CHAGEE tea is prepared in a safe, hygienic environment and delivered with the consistency and excellence they expect and deserve. In June, 75 partners have completed in-house training sessions covering food safety, product quality, and customer service, as well as government-accredited courses to further reinforce their knowledge and capabilities.
2. Audit Measures
In June 2025, the CHAGEE APAC audit team continued to monitor performance across our outlets through monthly audit inspections:
Outlets were also provided with tailored coaching sessions to reinforce food safety principles and raise awareness of detail-oriented standards that support both customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
3. In-store Audit Findings
Improvements made in stores following the audits:
Issue: Food waste bins were not covered immediately during operational hours.
Measures Taken: The audit finding was shared with the partner on the spot, and immediate rectification was carried out by ensuring the waste bins are promptly closed after use.
Issue: Missing shelf life label for sanitiser that had been transferred into the spray bottle.
Measures Taken: The audit finding was shared with the partner on the spot, and immediate rectification was carried out. All transferred chemicals must be labelled with an internal shelf life label to ensure the effectiveness of the chemical within a designated period.
4. Food Safety & Product Quality Measures
When storing chilled ingredients in the chiller, we always ensure there is a gap of at least 2 cm between the items and the chiller wall. This allows for proper cold air circulation, helping to maintain the ingredients at their optimum temperature.
A weekly deep cleaning routine has been established for washing our tea base container. During this process, all joints and connectors must be dismantled to prevent the accumulation of dirt in the corners and connection points, ensuring the container is fully sanitised.
5. Fun Facts about Tea
The origins of Earl Grey tea's name are steeped in mystery, with various theories suggesting it was named in honour of Charles Grey (the 2nd Earl Grey and British Prime Minister) in the early 19th century; however, the exact connection remains mysterious and uncertain.
Earl Grey tea is a harmonious blend of bold black tea and the distinctive essence of bergamot (citrus fruit).
The infusion of bergamot oil imparts a unique citrusy and slightly floral aroma, creating a refreshing and aromatic experience.
