- Food Safety & Product Quality Training
In March 2025, CHAGEE continued to fulfil local government requirements for food safety by sending 46 of our store partners to attend the Food Handling Certificate Course in Malaysia or the Workforce Skills Qualification in Food Hygiene Certification Course in Singapore.
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance food safety standards, we also continued to conduct in-house training sessions based on our internal audit standards, focusing on food safety, product quality, and customer service excellence. These internal standards are designed not only to comply with local regulatory requirements but also to strive for industry excellence in the market. Our audit team successfully trained 63 partners across Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. These partners came from various operational roles, including store managers, operations team members, and tea baristas. This training is crucial in ensuring consistent service quality and product standards, ultimately enhancing the overall experience and satisfaction for our consumers.
2. Audit Measures
In March 2025, our APAC audit team carried out comprehensive inspections across all 164 stores in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. These regular monthly audits allow us to consistently enhance food safety and product quality, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in every CHAGEE beverage.
We are thrilled to share that our highest-scoring outlet achieved an outstanding 96.19 rating in food safety and a perfect 100 in product quality!
3. In-store Audit Findings
Improvements made in-stores following the audit:
Issue: Usage of a broken tea filter net in the tea brewer machine.
Measures Taken: The broken tea filter net was replaced with a new tea filter net immediately. We conducted thorough inspections on all our tools and equipment to ensure consistent product quality in every cup of tea we serve daily.
Issue: Chiller door not properly closed.
Measures Taken: The chiller door was immediately secured to ensure all chilled tea bases and milk were stored at the ideal temperature. Additionally, our partners were reminded to follow proper procedures to prevent future occurrences.
4. Food Safety & Product Quality Measures
- All opened CHAGEE tea leaves must be properly resealed in their original packaging with the air removed. This not only ensures food safety for opened ingredients but also helps preserve the optimum flavour of the CHAGEE tea leaves by keeping them in an airtight condition.
- At CHAGEE, we prioritise freshness and quality by brewing all tea bases daily. To preserve the optimal flavour and tea profile, we implement a strict four-hour shelf life for our tea bases. This practice guarantees that every cup of tea maintains its intended aroma and taste, ensuring a superior tea-drinking experience for our customers.
5. Fun facts about Tea
What makes CHAGEE’s newly launched Hojicha Genmai Milk Tea truly unique?
Traditionally, Genmaicha is crafted by blending unroasted, umami-rich green tea with roasted brown rice, creating a comforting and mellow flavour profile. CHAGEE takes this classic combination a step further with an innovative twist by using Hojicha, a roasted green tea, instead of the usual unroasted variety to introduce an added layer of complexity. With a deep roasted aroma, Hojicha Genmai Milk Tea blends umami-rich roasted brown rice (genmai) with earthy roasted green tea, finishing with a subtle smokiness and a smooth, lingering aftertaste.
